Being Uncomfortable

Being uncomfortable is not...comfortable. That's the point.
In general, we humans love our comfort. Soft pillows and a warm bed at night.
Yet, we all know that being comfortable all of the time is not good for us. In order for us to grow, we have to be a little out-of-sorts and more aware of our feelings/immediate surroundings/our inner landscape.
The very feeling of not feeling right is a tip-off that we need to look deeper to see what's gone off-center. What is trying to gain our attention. When we're proactive and seek to find out what makes us not feel the same as we've always felt, this is good. It prevents this feeling of being uncomfortable from progressing to something more alarming.
When we don't listen to this soft murmur of uncomfortability this is when things snowball and crescendo into the huge arguments, the hostile silences, the accidents -- the pain. This is the Universe's way of truly getting our attention. It basically is saying to us, If you don't hear, you'll feel.
Why wait for this? I mean. We could. But, why? Who wants to deal with the big pain when we can easily handle a little bit of discomfort by paying attention. Doing some introspection and looking into our lives more deeply for a few days. Gasp, maybe even a week, or two. Getting quiet is easier than paying a doctor bill, paying more for car insurance, or having to deal with the blow back from that argument (or, two).
So, when you get a niggling sensation of something's not right. Don't ignore it. Work on looking deeper into it. It very much may be your road to a better set of circumstances for you.
