I saw a beautiful piece of a bluish greenish crystal with white and brown wavy lines all around the tower shape. As if the waves were curling around the corners of the tower to enchant and envelop me in its wonder. This was in mid-March. It didn’t take long to figure out it was Caribbean Calcite. This is a new crystal that is comprised of a light blue calcite, brown aragonite and white aragonite (with some druzy thrown in!). It was found in 2019 in Pakistan.

Pakistan? !?! But, that's not in the Caribbean!!!

Yep, no it's not. I thought there weren’t any beaches in Pakistan until I checked and found out that there are some amazing beaches there! Like the one below located in Cape Mountain-Karachi. Look at the amazing hues of green, blue and the delicious blending of the colors as the ocean comes towards the shore. Then, the white of the surf on the sand – perfection. Just like a Caribbean Calcite.

Long before I saw this gorgeous beach, I knew I had to have this crystal in my life. Why? Dunno. I kept thinking about it. I dreamt about it. And after a couple of days, I went on a hunt for Caribbean Calcite. As I searched, the price points were pricey and I began to get deterred as the hours of my search turned into days. I gave up on day 3 and threw in the proverbial towel. Then, in the days leading up to the full moon on March 28 (the Worm Moon), I could not sleep! I HAD to have a piece of Caribbean Calcite. I found cube tumble on Etsy on March 19th and snapped it up. The waiting for it to arrive was interminable. It seemed like it took forever, but it was only a few days. In the wee hours of the 23rd, I could not sleep. Caribbean Calcite fever overtook me. At 2:00 am, I was back on the hunt.

The price points were steep. So, I tried to search for more affordable ways to get my hands on a few pieces of this crystal. By 5:00 am, I found someone in Pakistan who mined it, and cut the raw material – a direct connection with no middle man. Super scary to me. Someone half-way around the world was communicating with me about the very thing I was obsessed with and he was giving me decent prices. The catch? I had to buy in bulk – a kilogram! This was a plunge for me. I ignored the butterflies stomping around in my belly and negotiated for what I wanted. We came to a deal by about 6:00 am. Later that day, my order was confirmed – yet, I still had yet to receive my first piece of Caribbean Calcite. I had NEVER seen this crystal in person, or held it in my hand. It was all in my head – sight unseen IRL. I shoved down the worry and awaited my first piece…

it arrived on March 25th, 3 days before the full moon. I sage’d and cleansed it immediately upon its arrival. Then, proceeded to take my daughter to the park with the crystal firmly gripped in my hand.

The stars must have aligned because on that same afternoon, I had a session with Josephine, of Settara Stones (@SettaraStones IG). She was going to help me uncover what crystals could be my “Journey Stones”. What’s that, right? I wondered too. But it intrigued me nonetheless, especially in light of my recent CC frenzy crush! Josephine has used crystals in her healing jewelry for over 20 years and has been featured in The CBS TV Show and The Ghost Whisperer (1st and 2nd seasons). Her goal is to help her clients find the right healing stone(s) for them which will help them on their journeys through life.

During our chat, I mentioned my new crystal and how I felt loathe to put it away in my purse. She began picking up an energy of a water goddess (deity), Yemoja. But, Josephine had very little knowledge of this goddess, or my affiliation with this energy. Josephine shared that such a strong and persistent impression of a goddess (deity) did not happen to her that often, nor that vividly (remember, we were speaking on the phone; no video chat either!). Josephine felt strongly that Caribbean Calcite was one of Yemoja’s crystals as she felt this deity’s presence and energies from early on in our conversation. We chatted some more, but in the back of my mind, I tucked this away.

Later that evening, I reflected on my first impressions with CC. When I held the square tumble of it, after a few moments, I felt the energy go from my cupped hands, up both of my arms towards my head, pass through my third eye, and pool just above my head. It was a warm vibrating energy; pulsating, not fast; like a heartbeat after a leisurely long walk up a slight incline. There was strength to its pulse!!

I asked my son to feel it and see what he felt (he is also a crystal lover and an intuitive). After about 20 seconds, he said he felt it in his third eye, definitely, and some in his crown chakra as well. Definitely this is a crystal for the upper chakras!

That night, I slept with my CC by the head of my bed. I slept soundly but dreamt all night. It was a light sleep because I was in a dream that felt important. I knew I was sleeping, but I was wide awake. The people in my dream were wearing light blue, and speaking to me with an urgency; not fear, not stressed. It was as if they were imparting key information that I needed to retain. This went on all night. I awoke the next morning feeling like I was underwater. My BFF said it was lucid dreaming. Yet, I don’t know. I did not feel as if I went anywhere. But, the people were definitely not human, even though they had a humanoid physique.

Next night, same thing. More dreams, more communication. Again, when I woke, I felt groggy without being sleepy. A key symptom of being out of the body too long!

Clearly, CC helps with lucid dreaming, and astral travel.

By the third night, I was sleeping soundly without lucid dreaming. It was a beautiful restful sleep. This was Saturday night, the evening before the full moon.

This is eerily similar to the energy of Yemoja, the Goddess (Orisha) of the Ocean, a Mother Energy. A healer, a nurturer, an orisha that communicates and comforts you and helps you see, through dreams, through meditations, through visions, on how to handle the various situations in your life. Yemoja is no one’s doormat. She has strength, and a firm backbone. Ever see a tsunami? Or a whirlpool in the ocean? This is Yemoja when she’s riled up about something! CC does indeed give to me the loving mother with a backbone vibe. It looks so similar to the ocean that it is not a stretch of the imagination to associate water deities/orishas/goddesses with this crystal.

So, in summary, my experience with my square CC tumble is one of great peace and serenity washing over me, harmonizing my energies, and adjusting the spin of my chakras. I feel that my third eye opened even more, and my trust in the intuitions that come to me grew stronger.

When CC is in my hand, or in my crystal pouch in my handbag, I feel as if all is right with the world and I can move with more freedom and flexibility within the world – a strong feeling of well-being envelops me whenever it is nearby. It quiets my nervous system, I feel a quiet thrum in my being when I hold it. It teaches me how to maintain my inner equilibrium. When it is not around me, I am learning how to attune back to that place of balance that I feel when I have it nearby. So, you can say that CC is akin to a tuning fork. It has a frequency of serenity, while keeping you completely awake, yet focused so you can be the best YOU you need to be in your day-to-day life.

Because of this heightened state of peaceful serenity, I feel this is an excellent crystal to use during shadow work as it will offset any feelings of low energy (depression), fear, or anxiety as you uncover/discover what is held in the shadows of your psyche.

I'll break the suspense. My CC arrived late in the afternoon on the 7th of April. And they are gorgeous! The energy coming off of them is truly moving. My daughter and I opened them all up and I just sat and stared for about an hour. I did not want to move away from them! The pull from these crystals on me is very strong; I definitely have an affinity for this crystal especially as I am in the process of shadow work.

Summary of Spiritual Properties:

Caribbean Calcite - it is comprised of Blue Calcite (healing), White Aragonite (spiritual connection, helps with forgiveness & higher love) & Brown Aragonite (organization & keeping one's focus on the task at hand).

As a unified crystal, Caribbean Calcite (CC) melds all of the above properties into an amazing harmonizing crystal. It acts like a tuning fork. Once inside your auric field, CC will harmonize your emotions and bring them into equilibrium by adjusting/aligning any of your chakras that is in need of help, or a boost.

CC also calms and soothes you as you move through situations so that you have a cool, calm head.

Then, at night time, CC helps you to dream deeply.

It's truly an amazingly versatile crystal.

If you own CC, please let me know your experiences with it! I'd love to hear your stories! I'd love to hear if you've found that it works with other chakras.
