The first thing I will say is I am a devotee of Hekate, a Titan Goddess who is the Keeper of Keys. So, when I saw this TV show's title and this image...

I was hooked before I even saw a second of the show. :-)
I heard from a few people that the beginning was super fast and it felt rushed -- I concur. It is a bit speedy. I chalk it up to the producers wanting to 'get into it' before anyone loses interest. <shrug> I would have slowed down and make the real juicy stuff happen in episode 2, but I digress.
The story is about a family and the father was murdered. The family relocates to the husband's ancestral home in Matheson -- The KeyHouse. And, it looks and sounds just as eerie as it's supposed to! Almost immediately, we know this is the wrong house for them to be in if they are looking for comfort from their grief.
As episode 1 races on, we see that Locke Mansion may possibly be a key factor in why their father, nor his family, EVER spoke about the place, or their childhoods...
This show focuses on the 3 kids -- Tyler (the eldest son), Kinsey (the middle daughter), both of them are in high school, and Bode is the youngest; he's in elementary school. There's a mother, but of course, she's not really around much (typical in these types of shows).
The adventures of finding keys begins pretty quickly as does the appearance of the first antagonist -- an unsettling voice coming from the bottom of an empty well that speaks only to Bode. Therefore, no one believes him -- until trouble strikes very close to home!
I'm up to Episode 5 and I am definitely hooked. I see technical issues that I am very ticked off about especially when someone disappears at the end of one show and that same person re-appears in the next episode as if nothing happened -- come on producers! Watch your details now. But other than this glaring gaff -- the concept of the show is quite good and has amazing potential and possibilities provided that the writers keep track of the details, and develop in an organic and intriguing manner.
So far, I give the show a solid 7 out of 10 stars.
And if you haven't seen the trailer yet, what's stopping you. Here it is.
