Sunshine faces more than night terrors and things that go "bump" in the dark. This 16-year-old is a spiritual warrior that has come of age without anyone to guide her. Through what almost seems like providence, Sunshine meets Nolan who believes every odd thing Sunshine tells him. He digs beneath the surface of things to find the truth that Sunshine desperately needs. Why? Those answers could possibly save Sunshine's mother's life!
While I am not a huge fan of YA novels (the teen angst drives me batty), I enjoyed The Haunting of Sunshine Girl. The story, while familiar in its elements, has a very fresh feel and lovely twists that make this teen ghostly thriller a great read. There's just enough angst for the teens to revel in, but light enough so adults can read it with ease. The romantic element is very subtle; it does not overwhelm the story. However, it has you rooting, and hoping, for more sparks.
If you enjoy a good, hair-raising, back tingling ghost story coupled with an engaging fully developed main character, you will LOVE The Haunting of Sunshine Girl.

In case you're wondering why a book review...
A long time ago, I used to run host a very active blog called The Notebook Blogairy. I did book reviews, book tours for Indie authors which included cool bookish giveaways, I ranted and raved about bookish things, I went to writer's conferences, I wrote and published books -- I lived the complete writers' life. But, I was uber interested in books of a witchy, or supernatural nature. In fact, my second published lit mag short story was all about a character that no longer was among the living, and my last book has the title Fury From Hell.
If I was paying attention, I may have noticed a trend a bit sooner. I love writing and I love all things that cannot be fully explained by our five senses.
Fast forward a decade+, and here I am, still writing while incorporating things that go bump in the night, ancestor communication and veneration, along with divination readings. It's as if my stories came to life within my life. I am thankful for this journey, and I am thankful for each and every one of you who has been, and/or, are currently joining me on this lovely journey. As I evolve more and more to reclaim my love of writing and couple it with my Azurite 22, spiritual YouTube channel, I ask that you share your thoughts, comments and suggestions so that I can more easily slip into my True Being and be of more service to you.
Ase to you, and your spiritual families! May you ever shine bright, love strongly, and be a masterful healer of yourself, and those around you!
Psst. If you care to read it, this is my first ever published lit mag short story Chambray Curtains Blowing in the Wind. Not supernatural, but very much a study in shadow work.
